"IIIIIT'S CHRIIISTMAAAAAS!"

Final Touch- Initially i wanted to make this elf look like he was concentrating hard on putting the last piece of a toy together, but i like the magical side of just adding that final touch* I'm not quite sure why, but I've started paying attention to light sources and shadows lately. I'm liking what its adding to my work... atmospheric.

The final project before Christmas was to come up with a set of illustrations for one of 6 or 7 books. I went with, 'The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog, and of His Friend Marilyn Monroe'. the title pretty much sums up what the books about. I did 6 oil painting styley digital images, this isn't my fav', but i only have time to post one (slow laptop) and this one seems most appropriate for the festive season!
Peace.

Sketchbook updates...

FAT SCULPTURES -Sketches from the V&A- Also saw Shadow Chasers, an exhibition of camera-less photography. Personally liked the stuff by Floris Neususs.

I was stuck on the M25 for nearly 3 hours!

Was watching Olly Murs Revealed... this was his producer.

Edgware Rd...

Did some reportage on Edgware rd, then we were asked to submit 2 final images for an exhibition. Got both pieces into the exhibition, but didnt sell anything :S Think they would have done better if i'd submitted some originals, but time wasnt on my side!

Was relatively happy with them but not entirely, but i wont bore you with that part, i've got the best part of 3 years to get good!

Rough work.

We were asked to draw a set of 20 thumbnails for a paragraph from Jeckyll & Hyde and then 3 detailed roughs. This was one of my roughs, showing the scene when some guy collided with a small girl, and tramples over her as she screams on the floor. Looks a little bit like the guys kicking the girl and she looks a bit, 'stiff' but i was relatively happy with the rough.

Reportage from Edgware Rd...

Hello! Its been a while since my last post, been finishing lots of small bits and pieces at Uni, and now just about to venture into a nice book illustration project!

Fiji-Cambodia-Vietnam

I didn't get to draw as much as I would have liked in S.E Asia, but I've got some photos I still haven't had developed yet, which Im planning on using to make a few more illustrations.

Fiji, is what you imagine when you think of Paradise.

The people are so chilled out, at the airport there was literally about 20 security staff just sat chatting in the waiting hall for nearly an hour! Fiji tiiiime!

Tinie Tempah Cartoon

I developed this guy into a final Illustration, I'll find it and whack it up soon!

From Bangkok airport, were i had to spend 12 hours waiting for my flight home!

2 of the developed pieces from Cambodia.

These were just a few drawings from my journals, I'm saving the rest for my autobiography :p If you ever get a chance to visit a new country or place definitely take it!!!

Peace!

A Few Drawings From My Travel Journals! ✈

Hong Kong-Australia-New Zealand.

I drew a few of these little houses in Brisbane, they were like those suburban retro wooden houses you see in photos of 50's America. The happy chap perched on the side was just cotching in the city one fine eve!

Auckland docks- It felt like London at times. Awesome shops, parks and arcades. The staff at the hospital were pretty alright too! :p

Boat trip from Wellington - Nelson.

My good ole' Thai pal Nat. Managed to break 3 cameras within the first week of meeting him.

Wasps 70's Night Poster.

Long time no post! I was asked to come up with a poster design for the 70s night, at Chalfont Wasps FC in a few weeks. I used watercolour to shade, then inked over it and blocked in the colour on PS. I've been using watercolour's more lately, wish i had taken some on my travels. More work on the way!
